As a writer, I focus on the things that are important to me as a woman: women’s fiction and womens’s issues, including relationships, personal realizations, and shoes. I explore relationships through fiction. Sisters, friends, mothers and daughters, and relationships with the men in our lives. When it comes to non-fiction, like my blog and my interest in writing magazine articles, I love to write about fashion, make-up, culture, beauty trends and how they all relate back to us as real women.
I used to be a runner. I ran four marathons before I decided to spend my weekends writing, and join a gym instead. The Newport Marathon in Newport, Oregon was my first and favorite marathon, and the inspiration for my first novel, Another Mile. Unlike the protagonist in the novel, I did not meet anyone interesting along the way. I live and write in Portland, Oregon, a beautiful city filled with runners. These days, I enjoy passing people running on my drive to the coffee shop. I don’t feel guilty, though, because I drive a hybrid. I am currently working on my second novel, which has nothing to do with running.
